enchanting 15th century timber-framed house, in the picturesque
award-winning downland village of Bramber, West Sussex ... a place of
fascination and mystery.
Many thousands of visitors have admired its picturesque charm and enjoyed its atmosphere of friendliness and welcome, qualities which make it a visit to remember. The origins of St. Mary's go back to the days of the Knights Templar when five acres of land in the downland village of Bramber were given to them by the widow of Philip de Braose, following his death in 1125. In addition, there are five acres of beautiful gardens, a prehistoric Ginkgo biloba 'living fossil' tree, amusing animal topiary, and Victorian 'Secret' Garden with an unusual circular English Poetry Garden.
